Favourite summer scents

Today we are taking summer fragrances! During hotter months I tend to opt for light, yet sweet, scents -mainly florals with a hint of oriental or ozonic feel to them. Here are some of my favourite scents I'll be reaching for this summer.

Top note: cassis
Middle notes: rose and freesia
Base notes: vanilla, patchouli, woody notes

Top notes: lemon, pink pepper, mint
Middle note: jasmine
Base notes: cedar, cashmeran, sugar

Top notes: wisteria, guava, white lilacs
Middle notes: jasmine, lotus flowers, orchid, azaleas
Base notes: vetiver, cedar wood, musk

Top notes: mandarin, bergamot, raspberry
Middle notes: jasmine, ylang ylang, gardenia, iris
Base notes: amber, white moss, vetiver

Top notes: grapefruit, lemon, bergamot
Middle notes: cassia, neroli, petitgrain

Enjoy if you decide to try any of them! :)

DIY: ripped denim

Want to rock distressed denim look this summer? Why spend money on a ripped pair of jeans if you can do it yourself ?!

You will need:

  • Old pair of jeans
  • Eye pencil or regular pen
  • Fabric or kitchen scissors
  • Pointed tweezers or sharp edged tool
  • Pumice or sand paper

Using a pencil, draw squares or shape of holes you want to achieve. Cut the squares out and using a pair of tweezers start pulling the threads out -both vertically and horizontally. To finish the look, use pumice or sand paper to roughen the edges. Job done!

Quick tip: remember to make your holes slightly smaller than desired size as through wearing and washing your jeans, the rips will expand and fabric will get more frayed.

Good luck :)
